Female High-Performance U16 Ski Racing Coach | North American Camps
The Opportunity
This contract role is integral to our long-term vision of building a sustainable pipeline of women who will dominate the podiums. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to help design, implement, and assist in executing all U16 women’s domestic and North American Catalyst training camps. You’ll work closely with our Lead U16 Coach, supporting our most promising young racers who attend these intensive programs.
This position is for a coach with a proven track record of excellence, an individual who understands the nuanced art and science of developing elite young athletes. As a coach for all North American U16 domestic camps, you’ll be entrusted with the pivotal role of identifying and nurturing talent, fostering a culture of resilience and professionalism, and ensuring our athletes are on the definitive path to the highest echelons of our sport. You will be a mentor, a tactician, and the driving force behind a performance camp program designed to develop athletes into competitive systems, enabling them to dominate at the national and international levels for years to come.
Core Responsibilities & Mandate
As part of the coaching team for all North American U16 Female high-performance camps, you will be responsible for the following:
- Vision & Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, progressive, and cohesive training plan for all North American U16 camps, grounded in Alpine Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, specifically targeting the “Learn to Train” and “Train to Train” stages.
- Foster a high-performance environment that is demanding yet supportive, emphasizing athlete accountability, sportsmanship, and a growth mindset.
- Act as on-hill leader and mentor for all camp athletes and support staff, setting an unimpeachable standard for professionalism and performance.
- Technical & Tactical Development:
- Design and implement cutting-edge on-snow training progressions focusing on advanced fundamental skill acquisition, tactical refinement in Slalom and Giant Slalom, and the introduction to Speed elements in a controlled, age-appropriate manner.
- Conduct meticulous video analysis daily, providing individualized, constructive feedback to each athlete to accelerate their development.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive dryland training program for all camps, focusing on athletic literacy, injury prevention, and the physical conditioning required for elite-level ski racing.
- Program Management & Execution:
- Lead all logistical and operational aspects of the North American U16 camps, including training lane allocation, course setting, and daily schedule management.
- Collaborate with the High-Performance Director to select camp locations and create a year-round development calendar that provides optimal training and recovery periods.
- Maintain detailed records of athlete progression, providing formal and informal feedback to athletes, parents, and home club coaches.
- Ensure a safe training and competitive environment at all times, adhering to and exceeding all national and provincial safety standards.
- Athlete & Stakeholder Relations:
- Cultivate strong, positive relationships with the athletes, building trust and providing mentorship on topics ranging from equipment selection to mental preparation and nutrition.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents during camps, communicating program goals, athlete progress, and fostering a collaborative partnership.
- Liaise with home program coaches to ensure a seamless and integrated development plan for each athlete throughout the year.
Qualifications & Experience
We are seeking a candidate who has lived and breathed high-performance ski racing. The ideal candidate will not only meet but exceed the following qualifications:
Minimum Certifications:
- Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance (CSIA) Level 2 Certified
- Alpine Canada Alpin (ACA) Development Level (DL) Certified Coach
Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of coaching experience within a high-performance ski racing environment.
- Demonstrable experience running and leading U16 ski racing programs and/or camps.
- A deep and applied understanding of the Alpine Canada Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework.
- Proven ability to design and implement year-round, multi-disciplinary training plans for elite athletes.
- Exceptional on-snow demonstration and diagnostic skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate young female athletes.
- Impeccable organizational and planning abilities.

Important Note: This is a Contract Role
Please note that this is a contract role to start, designed explicitly for our high-performance camps, and is not a full-time position. The role will gradually develop into a full-time position as we mature the North American Camp Program. We are seeking a highly committed individual for these specialized camp projects.
