The Opportunity
Catalyst Performance Camps is seeking a world-class leader and exceptional ski racing coach for our FIS Female High-Performance North American camp projects. We are at a pivotal moment in our commitment to fostering the next generation of elite female athletes. We are seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Female High-Performance FIS Coach for our North American camp program. This is not just a coaching role; it is a pivotal position responsible for identifying and nurturing the future stars of our sport. We are seeking a mentor, strategist, and world-class technician who understands the unique physiological and psychological needs of the developing female athlete.
This role is integral to our long-term vision of building a sustainable pipeline of women who will dominate the podiums. The successful candidate will have the autonomy to help design, implement, and assist in executing all FIS women’s domestic and North American Catalyst training camps, working closely with our Lead FIS Coach and supporting our most promising young racers who attend these camps.
This is a position for a coach with a proven track record of excellence, an individual who understands the nuanced art and science of developing elite young athletes. As a coach for all North American FIS domestic camps, you will be entrusted with the pivotal role of identifying and nurturing talent, fostering a culture of resilience and professionalism, and ensuring our athletes are on the definitive path to the highest echelons of our sport. You will be a mentor, a tactician, and the driving force behind a performance camp program designed to develop athletes into competitive systems, enabling them to dominate at the national and international levels for years to come.
Core Responsibilities & Mandate
As part of the coaching team for all North American U16 Female high-performance camps, you will be responsible for the following:
- Vision & Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, progressive, and cohesive training plan for all North American FIS camps, grounded in Alpine Canada’s Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, specifically targeting the “Train to Train” and “Train to Race” stages.
- Foster a high-performance environment that is demanding yet supportive, emphasizing athlete accountability, sportsmanship, and a growth mindset.
- Act as on-hill leader and mentor for all camp athletes and support staff, setting an unimpeachable standard for professionalism and performance.
- Technical & Tactical Development:
- Design and implement cutting-edge on-snow training progressions focusing on advanced fundamental skill acquisition, tactical refinement in Slalom and Giant Slalom, and the introduction to Speed elements in a controlled, age-appropriate manner.
- Conduct meticulous video analysis daily, providing individualized, constructive feedback to each athlete to accelerate their development.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive dryland training program for all camps, focusing on athletic literacy, injury prevention, and the physical conditioning required for elite-level ski racing.
- Program Management & Execution:
- Lead all logistical and operational aspects of the North American FIS camps, including training lane allocation, course setting, and daily schedule management.
- Collaborate with the High-Performance Director to select camp locations and create a year-round development calendar that provides optimal training and recovery periods.
- Maintain detailed records of athlete progression, providing formal and informal feedback to athletes, parents, and home club coaches.
- Ensure a safe training and competitive environment at all times, adhering to and exceeding all national and provincial safety standards.
- Athlete & Stakeholder Relations:
- Cultivate strong, positive relationships with the athletes, building trust and providing mentorship on topics ranging from equipment selection to mental preparation and nutrition.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for parents during camps, communicating program goals, athlete progress, and fostering a collaborative partnership.
- Liaise with home program coaches to ensure a seamless and integrated development plan for each athlete throughout the year.
Qualifications & Experience
We are seeking a candidate who has lived and breathed high-performance ski racing. The ideal candidate will not only meet but exceed the following qualifications:
Minimum Certifications:
- Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance (CSIA) Level 2: A foundational understanding of skiing mechanics and teaching methodology is essential.
- Canadian Ski Coach Federation (CSCF) Performance Level (PL) Trained & Certified: You must have the core competencies for coaching ski racers in a competitive environment.
Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of coaching experience within a high-performance ski racing environment.
- Demonstrable experience running and leading FIS ski racing programs and/or camps.
- A deep and applied understanding of the Alpine Canada Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) framework.
- Proven ability to design and implement year-round, multi-disciplinary training plans for elite athletes.
- Exceptional on-snow demonstration and diagnostic skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate young female athletes.
- Impeccable organizational and planning abilities.

- Proven FIS-Level Experience:
- Athlete Experience: You have competed at the FIS level or higher. You understand the pressures, the lifestyle, and the dedication required to succeed.
- Program Management Experience: You have a demonstrable track record of running or playing a senior role in a successful FIS ski racing program. You know how to manage the moving parts, from budgets and logistics to parent communication and athlete welfare.
- A History of Developing Talent: You have a portfolio of athletes you have coached who have progressed to higher levels of competition. Your references will speak to your ability to nurture and elevate talent.
- Exceptional Leadership & Communication Skills: You are a natural leader who can inspire and motivate. Your communication is clear, concise, and practical, whether addressing athletes, parents, or other coaches.
- A Deep Understanding of Female Athlete Development: You are well-versed in the physiological and psychological aspects of coaching high-performance female athletes and can create a program that addresses their specific needs.

Please note that this is a contract role to start, designed explicitly for our high-performance camps, and is not a full-time position.
