u16 Coach – High Performance | European and South America Camps

Job Profile: High Performance U16 Lead Coach, European and South American Camps

Reports to: Director of High Performance, Catalyst Performance Camps Location: South America and European camp locations

The Opportunity: A Legacy-Defining Role

For over two decades, we’ve seen what separates the good from the legendary. It’s vision, innovation, and an unrelenting commitment to excellence. At Catalyst Performance Camps, we are committed to developing the most advanced and effective youth athlete development camp program in the world. We are seeking a world-class High Performance U16 Lead Coach to be the architect and driving force behind our U16 programs in South America and Europe.

This is not a typical coaching role. This is a position for a leader who will build an international dynasty of U16 athletes. You will be given the autonomy to design and implement a cutting-edge training platform, leaving your mark on the next generation of champions. You will be the face and the engine of our U16 division, responsible for its performance, reputation, and commercial success across our prime locations in  South America, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. If you are driven to build something truly exceptional from the ground up, this is your chance.

Core Responsibilities & Mandate

  1. Program Architecture & Innovation:
  • Design a U16 Curriculum for European and South American Camps: Develop and document a comprehensive on-snow technical and tactical progression for all U16 camps.
  • Create a Hybrid LTAD Model: Synthesize the most effective components of the USSA, Alpine Canada, and Swiss Ski Team long-term athlete development models into a proprietary Catalyst U16 framework. This model will serve as the foundation of our program.
  • Establish Camp Themes & Schedules: Design the overarching development theme, daily schedule, and progressive training blocks for each global camp, ensuring a logical and impactful developmental sequence.
  • Lead Program Execution: Oversee all aspects of camp programs, both on- and off-snow, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance are consistently maintained.
  1. Athlete Recruitment & Business Growth:
  • Drive International Following: Act as the primary ambassador for the U16 program. Generate buzz and build a loyal, international following of athletes, parents, and clubs through world-class results and strategic outreach.
  • Achieve Sales & Enrollment Targets: Take ownership of the commercial success of the U16 camps. Drive sales and enrollment in South America and Europe  (Säas-Fee, Hintertux, Stelvio, etc.).
  • Build the Catalyst Brand: Embody the Catalyst philosophy, establishing our U14 camps as the undisputed global leader for aspiring young racers.
  1. Integrated Athlete Development & Modern Coaching:
  • Lead On-Snow Coaching: Provide elite-level, hands-on coaching to U14 athletes, focusing on fundamental mastery and tactical sophistication.
  • Pioneer Data-Driven Coaching: Develop and implement a system that utilizes video analysis in conjunction with integrated GPS data (speed, line, forces) to deliver objective, actionable feedback to every athlete.
  • Collaborate with Integrated Support Team (IST):
    • Strength & Conditioning: Work together with Catalyst Strength and Conditioning coaches to design and integrate sport-specific dryland programs for each camp.
    • Nutrition: Partner with our Nutritional Coach to develop and implement comprehensive meal plans and nutritional strategies that fuel high performance and recovery during camps.
  • Foster Athlete Alignment: Utilize Catalyst Performance Camps Technologies to maintain open and productive communication with each athlete’s home club coach, ensuring our camp programs complement their year-round development plan.
  1. Strategic Leadership & Program Expansion:
  • Shape the Future: Provide critical input on the strategic direction and sustained growth of the entire U16 business vertical for our South America and European operations.
  • Develop 12-Month Support Programs: Innovate and align additional programming (e.g., remote coaching, physical testing protocols, off-season mentorship) to support athletes on a 12-month cycle, creating a holistic and continuous development pathway.

Qualifications & Experience: The Non-Negotiables

  • Coaching Certification:
    • Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance (CSIA) Level 2 Certification (or international equivalent).
    • Canadian Ski Coaches Federation (CSCF) Development Level (DL) Certified.
  • Racing Pedigree: Must have personal racing experience at the FIS level, at a minimum. You need to have lived it to teach it at this level.
  • Proven U16 Leadership: Demonstrable, multi-year experience successfully managing and leading U16 ski racing programs at a high-performance level. We will require references and a portfolio of past programs/successes.
  • Technical Expertise: Mastery of modern ski racing technique and tactics. Expert-level proficiency with video analysis software (e.g., Dartfish), and a working knowledge of GPS analysis tools.
  • Business Acumen: A clear understanding of the business side of sport, with experience in promotion, recruitment, and driving sales.

The Ideal Candidate: A Profile in Leadership

You are a master communicator and a natural mentor who inspires confidence and commands respect. You possess an unparalleled work ethic and an obsessive attention to detail. You understand that at the U14 level, you are not just coaching skiing; you are building character, resilience, and a lifelong passion for the sport. You are a visionary who sees the big picture—from the perfect arc of a turn to the long-term strategic growth of a global program. You are technically brilliant, relationally gifted, and commercially savvy. You don’t just adapt to the future of ski coaching; you create it.

If this profile describes you and you’re ready to take on a career-defining challenge, we invite you to start a conversation with us.

Important Note: This is a Contract Role

Please note that this is a contract role to start, designed explicitly for our high-performance camps, and is not a full-time position. The role will gradually develop into a full-time position as we mature the North American Camp Program. We are seeking a highly committed individual for these specialized camp projects.
