Minimum Age and Ability *
To ensure an excellent experience for everyone involved, campers must be at least 14 years old by the start of the camp. They should be able to load a chair lift without assistance and be confident parallel skiers. **Glacier based camps require carrying skis on chairlifts. Campers must be comfortable carrying their own equipment.
Fee Agreement *
The fee balance must be paid FOUR WEEKS before ensuring your place in the Camp.
REFUND POLICY
Cancellations from the Catalyst Performance Camps on or before the Camp start date will receive a refund of the paid amount.
No portion of the fee is refundable on or after the Camp start date. As Catalyst must contract with its staff and assume other Performance Camp expenses, we cannot provide any refund after the dates stated above.
Each individual Camper is responsible for the entire fee and any other costs or charges incurred by him/her at the Camp.
The obligation to pay these costs will not be reduced due to withdrawal or absence from the camp for any cause, including injury.
I understand that I am responsible for the full fee and any other charges I incurred at the Camp. I also understand that expulsion, withdrawal, or absence for any cause, including injury, will not reduce this responsibility. I further understand that I am not entitled to a refund if I am expelled or withdrawn or am absent from any portion of the camp, including withdrawal or absence caused by injury. I understand and agree that I will be responsible for all legal costs Catalyst Sport Sciences Inc. incurred in enforcing any provision of the Fee Agreement.
Liability Release
I, the undersigned, know that skiing is an action sport with a significant risk of personal injury. Racing and training for racing are even more dangerous. I know that participating in Catalyst Performance Camps (hereinafter called “the Camp”) involves skiing, ski instruction, ski racing, and other activities. I am also aware of the many risks, dangers and hazards including, but not limited to: boarding, riding and disembarking ski lifts; changing weather conditions; exposed rock, earth, ice, and other natural objects; trees, tree wells, tree stumps, forest dead fall; the condition of earth, snow or ice on or beneath the skiing/activity surface; changes or variations in the terrain which may create blind spots or areas of reduced visibility; changes or variations in the skiing surface or sub-surface, including changes due to man-made or artificial snow, variable and difficult snow conditions; streams, creeks and exposed holes in the snow pack above streams or creeks; cliffs; crevasses; snowcat roads, road-banks or cut-banks; impact or collision with lift towers, fences, snow making equipment, snow grooming equipment, snowcats, snowmobiles or other vehicles, equipment or structures, impact or collision with other skiers; the failure to ski safely or within designated areas; negligence of other skiers; and negligence on the part of the Camp or its staff. I am also aware that the risks, dangers and hazards referred to above exist throughout the Camp and the areas in which the Camp operates and that many are unmarked. I freely accept and fully assume all such risks, dangers, and hazards and the possibility of personal injury, death, property damage, and loss resulting therefrom.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
In consideration of Catalyst Sport Sciences Inc. / Catalyst Performance Camps / Catalyst Racing Club Inc. accepting the participation of myself and/or my child into the Camp and permitting the use of the lifts, ski runs and trails, snowboard and terrain parks, racecourses and other facilities (herein referred to as “the Camp”), I hereby agree as follows:
TO WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS that I have or may in the future have against the Camp and all its directors, officers, employees, agents, coaches, and representatives (all of whom are hereinafter collectively referred to as “THE RELEASEES”).
TO RELEASE THE RELEASEES from any and all liability for any loss, damage, expense, or injury, including death, that I may suffer as a result of my participation in the Camp due to any cause whatsoever, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, BREACH OF CONTRACT, OR BREACH OF ANY STATUTORY OR OTHER DUTY OF CARE, ON THE PART OF THE RELEASEES, AND INCLUDING THE FAILURE ON THE PART OF THE RELEASEES TO SAFEGUARD OR PROVIDE PROTECTION FROM THE RISKS, DANGERS, AND HAZARDS OF SKIING REFERRED TO ABOVE.
TO HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY THE RELEASEES from all liability for property damage or personal injury to any third party resulting from my participation in the Camp or use of any of the facilities the Camp operates.
This liability release shall be effective and binding upon my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, and assigns in case of my death or incapacity.
VENDOR
In entering into this Agreement, I am not relying upon any oral or written representations or statements made by the Releasees other than what is outlined in this Agreement.
I HAVE READ & UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CHILD AND I AM AWARE THAT BY SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT I AM WAIVING CERTAIN RIGHTS TO WHICH I OR MY HEIRS, NEXT OF KIN, EXECUTORS, ADMINISTRATORS, ASSIGNS & REPRESENTATIVES MAY HAVE AGAINST THE RELEASEES
Panorama Mountain Resort, and each of their affiliated companies and subsidiaries, and Her Majesty the Queen in Right of the Province of British Columbia.
COACH/ATHLETE CODE OF CONDUCT
INTRODUCTION/GENERAL POLICY STATES
Catalyst Sport Sciences Inc. /Catalyst Racing Club Inc. & Catalyst Performance Racing Camps (the “Club”) is a high-performance Racing Camp and Program offering elite training and performance ski racing development and training across the globe in various skiing nations (the “Program”). This Athlete Code of Conduct (the “Code”) applies to all coaches & athletes participating in the Program or Camps (“Coaches/Athletes”) and establishes the guidelines and expectations that they are expected to follow.
DEFINITIONS
- “Club Activity” means any Club organized event including, but not limited to, international camps, day trips, races, special socials, charter trips, training or any other activity related to or established by the Club.
- “Harassment” means any behaviour that may be offensive or intimidating to another person, whether intentional or not, and includes Racial Harassment and Sexual Harassment. Harassment involves vexatious comments or conduct that are known to be unwelcome or that ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome because they might reasonably be expected to cause insecurity, discomfort, offence, or humiliation to another person. Examples of prohibited harassment include; racial or religious slurs; homophobic jokes; mocking a person's disability or accent.
- “Networks” means any communications network that transmits data between mobile phones, computers or other electronic devices, including the Internet, an Intranet, short range wireless networks (including Bluetooth or AirDrop), and Wi-Fi networks.
- “Participant” includes any participant in any Club Activity, any includes other Athletes, coaches, officials, spectators, instructors, staff and volunteers.
- “Properties” means any venues or locations that Activities are carried out and includes any equipment belonging to property owners.
- “Racial Harassment” includes any unwelcome remarks, jokes, innuendos or taunting about a person's racial or ethnic background, colour, place of birth, citizenship, culture or ancestry.
- “Sexual Harassment” includes any unwelcome comments about a person's appearance, sexual overtures, demands for sexual favours, sexually suggestive gestures, and uninvited sexual touching.
- “Unacceptable Behaviours” includes intimidating, harassing, abusive, insulting, discriminatory, derogatory, bullying (including cyberbullying) or demeaning speech or actions by an Athlete participating in a Club Activity.
CODE OF CONDUCT REQUIREMENTS
I will:
Sportsmanship and Model Conduct
- always consider the importance of my conduct in creating a positive image of the Club;
- always use acceptable language and speak positively of others;
- treat other Participants in Club Activities with respect and courtesy;
- never engage in Unacceptable Behavior to or Harassment of other Participants or any other person;
- cooperate with other Participants in all Club Activities;
- treat all Properties with respect and care and refraining from causing any damage to Properties; and be a role model for younger athletes.
School and Academics
- be fully responsible for and maintain my academics; and
- notify my teachers and school of any absences and plans to make up coursework.
Training and Competition
- train regularly, consistently, and always give my maximum effort during training and competitions;
- set measurable goals and work with my coaches and instructors to achieve my goals;
- listen to and show respect to my coaches, instructors, and all officials;
- compete and participate in a spirit of fair play and honesty;
- adhere to all applicable Alpine Canada Code of Conduct requirements (https://alpinecanada.org/uploads/documents/Code_of_Conduct_-_Final_Board_Approved_March_31%2C_2021_-_English.pdf); and
- refrain from any of the following practices or behaviours: using alcohol, drugs, tobacco, vaping, or any illicit substances; engaging in sexual conduct or misconduct; explicit swearing; harassment; hazing; bullying; theft; vandalism; engaging in unsafe and unsanctioned activities; or engaging in any criminal or illicit behaviour.
Social Media and Technology
- use Social Media responsibly, and demonstrate and show respect;
- abide by the terms of service/conduct standards set out by the Social Media platform I am using.
- utilize Social Media, the Internet, and other Networks in the safest way possible. I will not exchange excessive personal information that may be embarrassing, violate the privacy of others, or bring the Club into disrepute including transmitting: exact birth dates, phone numbers, addresses, pictures, videos, passwords, or social insurance numbers.
- not impersonate or use someone else’s identity online. This includes creating fake profiles and deliberately compromising another person’s social media accounts
- when using Social Media or other technology, refrain from posting/sending/communicating/messaging anything that is hateful, hurtful, or disrespectful to another individual or engage in any Unacceptable behavior or Harassment; and
- report any content or behavior that is inappropriate, compromising, illegal, or not suitable for a school environment to a trusted adult.
Other
- make sure all my travel documents, including my passport, are up to date and in order;
- be responsible for all my personal items such as identification, personal belongings, and equipment;
- abide by any local venue policies, rules, and requirements; and
- follow any applicable local COVID policies or rules if in existence.
I have read, understand, and agree to comply with the requirements of the Code. I understand my responsibilities and the consequences of failing to adhere to the foregoing requirements. I understand that my failure to comply with Code may result in my suspension or expulsion from the Program.
